The project is entirely self-funded by the artists & any profits made from sales in T-shirts or bespoke items will be used to fund further Bee Hotels & Pollinating planting in Urban sites.
WORKSHOP @ SUSSEX PRAIRIES
…an environmental artwork that functions both as new premises for solitary bees and a platform for debate around the issue of social housing in the UK…It is self-funded solely by multi-media artist Robin Blackledge and inspired by various projects in the Uk which seek to increase bio-diversity. This is a two year project to assess which species of bees inhabit the structures. The Uk hosts approximately 250 species of solitary bees 90% of our total bee population.
A series of designs will be built to assess which designs attract and nurture the most bees, aswell as creating a template for Positive Planting for pollination.
